Thought Field Therapy
Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is an energy treatment that uses the same meridian system employed in acupuncture. This circulatory energy system consists of 12 pathways, various connecting channels, and many energy points on the body. Chinese medicine has been using acupuncture for at least 5,000 years, but this ancient treatment entered mainstream western culture only in the last 50 years.
Dr. Roger Callahan developed TFT in 1979 based on his knowledge of the meridians and of kinesiology. It has been researched and validated by a number of researchers. In 1995, Charles Figley, Ph.D., and Joyce Carbonell, Ph.D., of Florida State University published study results showing TFT to be one of four new effective treatments for Posttraumatic stress disorder. According to Figley, TFT stood out because:
* Relief seems to be quick and permanent.
* People can be taught to treat themselves.
* It appears to do no harm.
* It does not require patients to rehash their difficulties, recreating
emotional pain.
